I accept though that translation of poetry can never capture the original meaning, beuty of language and rythem which is all poetry is about.

With due respect, the translation given is absolutely horrible and completely ignores the meanings of the words used losing the charm and beuty of the language used by the poet and in many places it gives the impression that translater didnt understand the true meaning. It does however gives a rytham to the lyrics. However the main problem with likes of Iqbal and Faiz is extensive use of Farsi words and even whole stanzas are in pure Farsi which a common man in subcontinent doesnt understand. This is a very daring poem of Iqbal which put him in a lot of trouble with mullas when published.
